How do I keep my shower looking new?

Most of us would like our brand new showers to stay looking new. In your case, you would like some professional advice on this.

We reached out to Symphony Showers, and were given the following tips:

  1. Avoid citrus based cleaners - the acid can affect the surface of some materials.

  2. If you would like to coat your shower in something to prevent watermarks, consider talking to someone like Diamond Fusion (www.diamondfusion.co.nz).

  3. Barkeepers friend is a great cleaner to use on your shower, as well as basins and baths.

  4. After every shower, you will keep your shower clean for much longer if you then rinse the walls (we tend to fling around soap and other products), followed by a squeejee. Every time.

  5. Cake soap builds up on surfaces very quickly and is hard to remove (due to the glycerine), so consider using an alternative if you can.

  6. You can actually use something as simple as Rainex Shower Door Water Repellant every 3 or 4 months to prevent watermarks.
